In this section, there are 45 rows of vine crops, tomatoes, and peppers, each row is approximately 500 feet long.
They are watered with drip line laid under the mulch. The drip line is connected to the water supply via the blue hose which is called lay flat. Each drip line has its own shut off to the lay flat and emits .67 gallons per minute per 100 feet. The pressure is regulated to the lay flat by a pressure reducer and is set at ten pounds of pressure and 32 GPM.
The mulch eliminates a lot of wasted water and conserves moisture. The mulch rows look quite good considering that we have had only .84 of an inch of rain during the month of June. The mulch also helps to keep the weeds down.
