Rain runoff from the barn roof and rain itself causes a muddy mess in the outside barn feeding (cows) areas. What are cost effective strategies on controling rain water in barn adjacent feeding areas. Thanks

I would look into hooking drainage tile to the gutter downspouts ( if you have gutters and downspouts) and then trenching and laying drainage tile off to someplace for the water to go....
I had to do this at my previous house, it worked like a charm.
Rain??? Whats that?

You can have it good, quick or cheap. Pick 2.
I vaguely seem to recall rain but not in sufficient quantity to be a problem. I could use that problem for a while.
You got good advice... Gutters and downspouts. If possible connect the down spouts to drain lines that drain to daylight where the wateer will be less of a problem.
I have gutters all the way round on my house, shop, garage, and tractor shed. Most of my downspouts are plumbed into underground drain lines that drain to daylight and run into one of the ponds or creeks near the house. As I will be xeroscaping all around the house between the house and the circular drive I don't need to retain rain water for irrigation purposes.
