Isn't that an endangered species of wetland grass?

I am told by the university people that beaked panic grass is uncommon but not rare.

I have not seen anything suggesting it was a wetland grass.

I just ordered the definitive encyclopedia of grasses. When it comes I can post what it says.

Thanks, I haven't been able to find much. Even had to submit a growing, potted specimen to get an ID. All the "experts" wanted to ID it as an annual panicum.

I have a patch growing in SE Ohio. Looks agressive, makes a dense sod. I wanted to know if I should pat myself on the shoulder for my good luck in acquiring this remarkable grass or run for the sprayer and the roundup.

The Flora of West Virginia says it is a palatable grass, but nothing further. The University people had no information on its characteristics, and the biological survey people could only say it was uncommon but not rare.
