    Egon, They are called WEEDS but yoiur weather shoiuld tame them for several months.

    Definitely go with composted to get rid of any weed seeds in either the bedding or the manure and not add them to the 'bank'. My favorite is composted chicken house cleanings for nitrogen. Coffee grounds and egg shells will bring up the worms to help with cultivation.
