    Our fragile Existance

Yesterday, my neighbors house burned down to the foundation. By the time the rural fire department got there all they could do is keep it from spreading to other buildings. My neighbors had lived in that house for 30 years or so, raised a family and retired there. Now they have lost everything but their lives. The pictures and items they held for memories are now just a memory. Insurance will help them rebuild, but it sure won't be the same. I feel so sorry for them, and wish I could do more than offer a meal and a place to rest. It could just as easily been my house.

Yes, that happens a lot, and is heartbreaking when it does.
