Terri and I were just finishing dinner when she asked me what was leaning up against the back of her SUV. I said it looked like a piece of weatherstripping was hanging down from the rear gate. We realized, at the same moment, that it was a snake reaching up the 18 inches from the ground to the bumper. I ran through the utility room, sliding on my shoes, ran across the yard, and got to the vehicle as the last of its tail slipped inside the back bumper. It was gone! I pounded on the bumper, the fenders; stomped and screamed. It had found a nice, new home. I just hope it doesn't find a way into the vehicle while Terri is cruising down the interstate.
Sometimes I wonder about the Country life.
