Here is something else for Prius owners and would be Prius owners..l.
The current "Consumers Reports" discusses the cost of hybrid cars vs the savings from economy. You pay more for a hybrid of the same basic capability of a "regular" car. Is it a good investment? Will you recoup the difference?
Based on average annual miles driven, current fuel prices, and other real world data the Honda hybrid costs you $500 extra to feel green but over the same period of time the Toyota Prius saves you $2000. Well du-uh I wonder which folks should buy?
Some hybrids just won't pay for their upcharge through economy at today's and anticipated near future gas prices. Clearly the Prius does. A Prius is a good investment which just keeps getting better as gas prices go up.
