    forestry

Does anyone know how to plant osage orange trees-better known as "hedge" in the Midwest-great firewood-I didn't know if the "hedge apples" could be planted somehow?
    Thanks for the help

In my part of the country, it's best known as bois d'arc. I don't know the answer to your question, but you might find some help at Dave's Garden, although I know nothing about the company.

I'd check with a tree nursery. There are various places in the midwest where closely spaced bois d'arc trees were planted for a living fence. Due to the BIG thorns they can work well.
