I too hate washing clothes and I can't imagine having to do all the laundry I have each week by hand! You do what you have to though. I do hang my clothes out to dry on the line though.
I personally think that using hot water makes the clothes cleaner. I think the laundry detergent works better when you use hot water. If you buy the Cold Water Tide then you can use cold water to wash clothes in. I like to wash in hot.
