    Slow Cooker Bananas Foster

    This is a little sweet dish that I have setup for this weekend since we are having a get together and I thought other ice cream lovers would enjoy. Snagged it off off the allrecipes website. I find so many yummy things on the site I can not keep up with them and I already have an entire index card box full of new things to try.

    Ingredients

    * 4 bananas, peeled and sliced
    * 4 tablespoons butter, melted
    * 1 cup packed brown sugar
    * 1/4 cup rum
    * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    * 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    * 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
    * 1/4 cup shredded coconut

    Directions

    1. Layer sliced bananas in the bottom of a slow cooker.
    2. Combine butter, brown sugar, rum, vanilla and cinnamon in a small bowl; pour over bananas.
    3. Cover and cook on Low for 2 hours. Top bananas with walnuts and coconut during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

    FOOTNOTE
    1 teaspoon rum extract may be substituted for 1/4 cup rum.

    Oh wow, that sounds delicious. I can't wait to try that one. I've always wanted to try a bananas foster recipe at home but never have gotten around to it, I was too afraid I'd mess it up. I love the idea of making it with a slow cooker. Thanks for posting this.

    Thank you so much for sharing. I have some bananas just sitting there so I think I'll make this tomorrow. I've never actually had bananas foster but it sure sounds delicious. Particularly if served over vanilla ice cream which I also just happened to have. Sounds heavenly.

    Sounds good and easy too. I'll have to try it. I've never even had banana fosters before. Do you have to put the rum in it? I might try the website also. There are alot of good websites to find cool ideas.
