We recently purchased some acreage with a stand of wild plums trees. They are prolific growers. They root underground, so where you had 5 small trees, the following year you'll have ten. I cut back many but decided to try something different. I made wild plum butter. Boil them. Use a collandar to sieve out pits and skins. Put on the fire again adding sugar, or artificial sweetener for diabetics, and butter. The butter seems to help cut the bite/tart. Let cool and jar. Any other suggestions, please. How about a mixed fruit cobbler?
