Question Removing woody vine from oak tree (pics)

Anybody have advice for what to do about this mature vine on this oak?

The previous owner obviously did "nothing" about it, but I really want to keep this particular tree healthy.

    Thanks!

Cut the vines down near the bottom end. You might be able to pull some of them off right then, but if not, they'll die, dry up, and you can pull them out next year. At least that's what I've always done and it worked for me.

Thanks, Bird. That's what I'll do.

Based on what I hear about the spread of oak wilt in these parts I'll probably just do the cuts now and not try to pull any off until those tiny attachments die. So far we don't seem to have any oak wilt and I want to keep it that way.
