    I just don't see where there is a choice. Like CarrieAnn, when I was growing up it wasn't optional to learn what I needed to in order to help around the property. If you're really interested in teaching others though, maybe you could put an ad in the paper next summer and have a few kids come for a couple hours a day for a week or so.

    The more we know, the better capable we are to survive in a world that changes daily. I totally believe in what you are doing in teaching the kids. Definitely, you should continue it. They will be better adults for it.

    With today's technological advancement, kids don't see manual skills as necessary so they become bored when we teach them these skills. I was taught to cook and wash my clothes at an early age so I don't rely on microwave or washing machine to do what I need to do.
