    Riding The Bus

Do your kids ride the bus? Out where I live they put the elementary kids on the same bus as the middle and high school students and it really worries me that my kids could either be picked on or caught up in something because of it. I am just going to keep driving them until they are older.

Aahh, how times change. When one of my "moonlighting" jobs was driving a school bus 49-50 years ago, I hauled kids for all 12 grades (we didn't have kindergarten then) on the same bus morning and evening, and no way I'd have allowed any kids to be picked on by others. But now, yep, they've got different busses for the older kids and the younger kids.

My kids don't ride the bus either, but oh the tales I have heard from ex-school bus drivers. These are 'current day' bus drivers. I doubt I would have too many worries if it was the way Bird described.
