How to keep the teachers listening

I have learned from experienced that sometimes a teacher will turn themselves off to your child. Once they do that they have the power to do real damage to the student. Teachers are people too though, how do you keep a teacher listening and invested in your child even if your child has special needs?

The teacher should not turn off to your child because he or she has special needs. They should be trained to deal with those needs. If your child's teacher has turned off, you could try talking to her/him. Another option is to request that your child be placed in another class with a teacher who will be more sensitive to the special needs.
