Well the absolute softest and best grass in my opinion is Saint Augustine. But as you don't say where you live? Alaska maybe? there is no way to recommend a grass that might grow where you live.
Probably the best grass here in souther Arizona is BOB's it was designed specifically for the Arizona Diamondback baseball Field. Is very soft and only grows about 2 inches tall.
Takes constant water though.
