I keep telling myself that I'm going to start getting a newspaper on the day the grocery stores have their ads in it, but I keep forgetting to do it. Does anyone do that? Do the savings make the effort worth it?

I get the newspaper on the day the grocery store ads are in it to get a general idea of what the stores have on sale and the coupons they have. I buy a lot of off-brand items, so I don't save a whole lot. It's enough to justify getting the paper and spending time going through the ads, though.
You should actually do this. I started using newspaper coupons for my grocery shopping last year and I've figured out that overall each week I save around 8-10% of my total bill by using coupons.
