    Painting the basement

I am going to be painting our basement soon. Someone told me that I should try a product called Drylock. I guess it is supposed to help keep a basement dry. Has anyone heard of or used this product before?

Drylock is a kind of treatment for the masonry so that it will prevent moisture from seeping in. It will keep moisture from running into your paint to make it long lasting. You could also install some sort of ventilation to reduce moisture.

I have the Drylock done now. I had not planned to paint over the Drylock but now that I look at it I want to paint over it. So it is alright to paint over the Drylock then?

Yes you can paint over drylock. The drylock is used to keep the moisture out of the blocks and out of your basement. We have used it and then we painted right over it. Kind of like a double coating for protection.
