Has anyone tried this on gift bottles or as coasters? I've seen it done on a local crafting show and it looked so easy that I thought I'd try it this season but is it actually as easy as the instructors make it look?

My son used to do it as a hobby and although he got better with practice I do remember his first attempts were not perfect. If you make a mistake, you can't really amend it. It will depend on how steady a hand you have.
I was always interested in learning how to etch, but if it requires a steady hand, never mind. I have shaky hands, even without caffeine.
