How do you prune bouganvilleas so they do not get too wild? I don't want them to look too shaped, but I don't want leaders poking far out either.
You can use pruning shears to cut the branches or leaders that you'd like to remove. The only problem with pruned bougainvilleas is that they don't produce as much flowers as the untrimmed ones.
That's good to know. Now I have to think about it again and decide what's more important. I bought them for the flowers after all!
