    Feeding Sugar to Dogs

My mom use diluted sugar as a first aid for our dogs when they are weak. Our dogs recover from their illness after drinking that liquid. I'm just wondering how sugar help dogs when they are weak.

I don't know, but my guess would be the glucose in the fluid provides energy for the dog's body to work on repairing itself and recovering from illnesses.

Wow---I was always taught to never give sugar to dogs because it gives them worms. I think what that really means is the sugar in their system creates condions conducive to worms thriving in their system.

I never heard of giving sugar to a dog. I am glad that it works for you guys. It is terrible when a dog is moping due to weakness. The poor pouch look so miserable.
