    Renovating the House

How often do you renovate your house? Do you wait for something in the house to look bad before renovating it or you renovate it on regular basis, like say a yearly renovation?

Some projects are ongoing and get done yearly such as a good power washing in the spring. Once that is done, you get a chance to see where you need to concentrate your efforts on, such as exterior painting, or landscape work. Seems like if you keep up on this and maintenance, the upkeep doesn’t get too far ahead of you.

Here is what we do to sort of keep things fresh... We GET OUR HOUSE READY FOR SALE once a year. Yes, we do all the stuff both large and small that we would do if we were going to put the house on the market. of course we DON'T put the house on the market, but instead we get to live in it with all those upgrades and improvements.

Honestly, this really is a great attitude to have because there are indisputable benefits for those who take pride in their home, simply because it is where they live. CJDave's attitude reminds me to take time out to provide my home with good fung shui by keeping it in a constant state of upgrade, and thus forward motion. Of course there are things that might not be ideal for replacing or upgrading as regular home services, but there is nothing wrong with upgrading a home with a new central air unit if your miserable in the summer heat every year. Why make such a nice improvement for a home just to sell it for someone else to enjoy? It is also a good idea to redo peeled paint, clean or replace damaged/stained carpeting, refresh the design motifs in highly trafficked rooms, clean the gutters, change the HVAC filter, and repair anything that needs it. After all, life is to short to spend it fixing up a home that you will not get to enjoy.

There are many interior elements we can use for renovating our home including blinds, shutters, curtains, drapes, awnings etc.

We should renovate our home every 15 to 20 years.

If the number of years comes near to 15 when it was last renovated then its time to renovate or built.

There are certain areas including Bathrooms, Kitchens, Windows & Laundry Rooms that requires renovating.

A common problem one might run into is with the outdated plumbing and electrical. When I renovated my old house, the galvanized pipes were replaced with PVC or copper since they were in a corroded state. Didn't experiment DIY, rather took the help of plumbing contractors toronto. The cost to replace the pipes during renovation can add to the relative bargain since the pipes are exposed.
Similarly, the old electrical wiring is a safety hazard and needs to be brought up to code.
Always hire electrical experts for the electrical panel upgradation during bathroom remodeling.
Upgrade the modern wiring to support new and latest appliances, computers, entertainment systems according to your needs.
