    Canned Venison

I have canned many fruits and vegetable in my day but I have never thought to can Venison. My buddy came over with venison canned yesterday. It was ok, but I would prefer fresh or frozen.

I guess if you can have canned chicken, tuna, or pickled pigs feet you can have canned venison but I give you credit as I can only handle it as jerky.

"BackwoodsHome .com" can tell you how to can most anything. If I ever "get my deer" I plan on canning part of it. I think the end results reflect on the care taken to get it right.

I have a bizarre prejudice against canned meat (but tuna is somehow ok) so that does not sound good to me. Venison sausage is awesome though!

I don't think I would eat canned venison. I love venison in general, but I would think canning it would make it soft and mushy and that just doesn't sound appetizing. Nue2farm hope you get that deer so you can have fresh venison.
