    Countertops

The protective finish on our kitchen countertops is wearing thin, so we easily get stains and nicks. We can't afford to replace them right now. Is there an affordable way to prolong life until we can replace?

If your counter tops are plastic laminate, you can buy just the laminate sheets and cut and glue them over your existing laminate. Look the process over in a book to see if you can do it yourself. We did it and it was easier than I thought.

I have seen some spray-on stuff in a bottle for countertops, but I don't think it would do much more good than putting Armour All on your dashboard, to tell the truth.

You can also try covering it with something, even cabinet liner or tiles. These could be placed there permanently or it could be something you remove and toss periodically or remove to clean.
