I recently started a narcissus bulb with a glass bulb starter---got it going a month ago---it has been a real pleasure to watch the plant develope! My grandchildren have been mesmerized---what a good way to get kids interested in growing things.

So you plant the bulb in the starter and can see the entire development out of the bulb? That is very cool! Where did you find the glass bulb starter?
I have tried to encourage my kids to plant. However, I am not really good at it. I am hoping my mom come to stays with us soon. I am pretty sure she will be able to get them on the route to having a great green thumb.
I remember first planting in school in the small milk carton cut down and my youngest daughter did that recently also then transplanted outside, you can also do a starter plant in an egg carton then help them transplant into pots or outside later.
That's my thing, too, Chiquita. I am just not good with anything planted. My green thumb is mostly brown. I think it's a great idea to do this type of thing, though.
