    Painting in acrylics

Has anyone tried acrylic paint? My husband is a keen artist but he has always used oils, however he decided to try acrylics because they don't smell so much and I wonder if anyone has any tips?

I use acrylic paints. I find it easier to paint in layers. I usually wait a bit for it to dry, because the acrylic seems to blend in harshly with other acrylics (unless I am doing something wrong). I like to start off with covering the canvas with gesso. I also like mixing in textures with the paint.

Thanks brooke. That's helpful. He has mentioned already how quickly they dry, how easy it is to get good textures and how bright the colours are.
