Early May we noticed a pair of lesser Canadian geese hanging out around some of our ponds, later we saw the three gosllings (Huey, Duey, and Louie). We have enjoyed feeding them and watching them grow up from balls of down to miniature renditions of their parents. They are up to about 90% adult size.

They had begun flapping exercises and a week ago got in the air if only a foot up.

A few days later they were flying at tree top height.

This first photo is the family reving up and starting a takeoff run.

the next is just after liftoff.
