My wire to my barn just came down in the ice storm. Tree limb knocked them down. I wanted to burry them so now its going to happen for sure. We were out of power for 75 hours. Burned about 60 bucks worth of gas in the generator.

Acutally it should be protected. You have to hook the wire up to your NID. *network interface device*. If you hook it up where you connect your IW *inside wire* you will still have the protector in place that will go to ground in case of forgien electricity. Your best bet is to bury it but you can put it on a pole. You will need to drive some "J" hooks into the poles and get some "P" clamps for the wire. If you do insist on having it put on the pole just get VZ to do it. They will charge you a loaded labor rate that isn't cheap but keeps you from going up a pole.
