Hi Al

Charlie, I was sure you knew the right answer. Folks with "Ham" in their list of hobbies are either cooks, farmers or pretty darn sharp with all things electrical.
Now I have question on installing the 30 volt transformer that I just received from Surplus Center. Unfortunately I didn't receive any wiring diagram or instructions. This is description of transformer.
120:30 center tapped 1 1/2 Amp Transformer
• 120 volt AC primary, 30 volt center tap secondary. 1 1/2 amp. Use as a trickle battery charger for 24 volt batteries or for 12 volt batteries with the 15 volt center tap winding. Size 2" x 2" x 2 1/4". Shpg. wt. 1 1/2 lb.
I don't have a camera to post picture of the 5 leads on the front of transformer.
unit has 2 leads on bottom numbered 1 (black) 2 (red). I assume these are for primary connection.
3 leads on top numbered 3-4-5- right to left. 3 (green) 4(yellow/green stripe) 5 (white/green stripe) So I guess number 4 is center tap?
Should I connect the 1 & 2 to primary then check the voltage on the 3-4-5- leads for 30 volts?
Will 3 & 5 lead give me 30 volts?
Appreciate any assistance. Thanks
Red/Black are primary. Numbers 3/5 should provide 30V and either 3/4 or 4/5 should provide 15V.
