Yes, you're so right about training. I felt bad that I neglected to mention that in my first post. My point was that they have very strong instincts about cattle. I can only imagine what an incredible dog you'd end up with after it was well-trained to do the job. Our dog came from working stock on an Oklahoma ranch. The rancher had extra puppies he didn't need, and was going to destroy her. A neighbor of ours happened to be visiting, and he rescued her. So, that's how we ended up with one of the best dogs ever -- Australia, via Oklahoma, to Northern Minnesota. You never know!
