I'm going to be creamed for this, I'm a woman and don't know how to make Hashbrowns. I'm hungry for them and when I grated and just fried the potatoes, they tasted boring! Anyone can help out a hungry gal w/ a hashbrown recipe??
Here is my favorite hash brown method:
1. Boil potatoes first. Peel skins if desired, or grate as much as you want/can. Grate potatoes.
2. I use electric griddle for about 400 degrees. If using skillet, get the skillet pretty hot (med high or better heat). Grease with a bit of oil or Pam.
3. Lay out potatoes in thin layer. Add onions on top side if you wish. Can also add tomatoes, green peppers at this point on top.
4. Cook 5 minutes on first side; turn, cook 5 mins on second side. If you want to top with tomatoes and cheese, do it during this last 5 mins.
5. Now, for the best part, eat!! These generally come out fairly crispy on both sides. You can experiment with the recipe and add more oil if needed. I use a minimum of oil because of dietary reasons and I just don't like the oily taste.

That was really sweet of you to share that w/ us. As much as my girls liked it, minus hot sauce, they'll be passing it on too!
Thank you kindly!
