    hi lift jack additions

    just bought a 48 inch hi lift jack to replace a much used and long ago worn out comealong. any suggestions and tips on how to make this into an even more useful tool?

    I dont use mine very much. Other than changing a flat, I use mine mostly for pulling "T" posts in tight spots.

    mine needs a rebuild in the latching dept, but I welded the base plate on so it had less tendency tilt torward the object being raised. I have never used it as a come along

    can you explain latching mechanism. I bought a used one and can't figure it out. does the latch go up to jack and down to release?
