I don't know if this is the right place for this post. Some of you might think this is a silly question. But, do you have a name for your land, house, or property?
For example, Graceland, Tara (although fictional), Oak Alley, etc. I have always liked the way ranches or plantations had a name. Maybe its weird, but when given a name, it kind of comes to life even more to me.
I figured if I ever had a place big and fancy enough to warrant a name (fat chance), I'd just call it "Bird's Nest".
We have a neat-looking cast aluminum painted oval plaque mounted on the front of our garage with the words: "Higher Ground" on it. We came from an area of Kalifornika that was at the 4500 foot level and we now live at about 1200-something, but we definitely regard this as: "Higher Ground". We call or place "Eagles End" but this is really ranching country so most of my neighbors have ranches which are almost always named. Some in the area are
Javelina Canyon Ranch
Double U Ranch
Tombstone canyon ranch
The Allen Place

Did you think you wouldn't get all sorts of smart --- answers?

Yeah, I knew I was kind of asking for it. But you don't know if you don't ask. I just like the concept. I have been thinking about what to call my sprawling 13 acres, but haven't come up with anything yet.
OK, so I don't want any "smart" replies on what I should name my place.
