Is this a good drill press?A brand new one was given to me and I don't even know how to change the belt speeds for the different drill sizes.

If you send the drill to me I will evaluate and figure out how to change speeds. As I am a very slow worker there may be a considerable delay between receipt and return. Note that there is no charge involved.
Slowest bit speed = small motor pulley to large drill pulley
fastest drill speed = large motor pulley to small drill pulley
There should be a device that allows you to reduce belt tension so you can move the belt. The belt always stays horizontal.
If you send it I will provide pictures!

Hey Pete, nice offer that Egon made but there are the trans-border issues. Maybe it would be easier if you sent it to me, here in the states. I have a couple other drill presses and can compare and contrast them for you as well as decode the speed change and provide the pix like Egon mentioned.
Given no model number or picture I can't tell you too much about it without it in hand.

Thanks but no thanks. I spent a little time with it today and figured it out. It seems to be a very solid drill press and does a fine job. Buy one if you want one.
Egon, He must mean you since I already have two drill presses.
