I still have yellowish well water!?!

    Hey,
Our well water has had a yellowish tint to it since the well was installed over a year ago. Let a glass full sit for awhile and this stuff settles to the bottom. It has no bad smell or taste. We've had water test done twice which showed nothing really bad, just a little iron. It says nothing about the yellow look? We tried shocking the well even though our test showed no bacteria! What could be my problem? Can I fix this? Help plz

You don't say where you are? Yellow would normally indicate sulfur but it usually smells also. It could just be yellow clay thats in the water and settles out. My first thing would be to install a whole house filter and see if it filters out.

Yellow is either ferric iron or tannin. Since your yellow precipitates to the bottom, it is ferric iron, tannins will not settle out of solution.

So how much ferrous iron and hardness do you have? What is the pH?

When speaking about 'potable' water quality, "sulfur" means H2S gas. I've never heard of water containing actual sulfur.
