Butter the bottom of a baking sheet. Melt 1 1/3 cups sugar in a frying pan on low heat until it's a light golden color. Stir in a 6 oz. can of peanuts, then pour it onto the baking sheet. Push down on it with the back of 2 spoons and stretch it so it's 1 peanut deep. When it dries, break it up into pieces and place in an airtight container. You can exchange the peanuts with popcorn for caramel corn or you can mix them up together for a tasty combination.
