    Septic system maintenance

We built our house seven years ago on undeveloped property. We had to install a septic system for our sewage. We've never had a septic system before. It's just the two of us living in our house. Should we be thinking about having our tank pumped out?

With just two of you, you are probably good for about ten years depending upon the size of your house. Do you know the size of the tank? Normally the tank size is determined by the number of bedrooms and bathrooms in the house. The more rooms, the larger the tank and vice versa.
Not an expert, but we just went through this last spring. Got educated by the folks in the business of installation and service.

Our septic system is 27 years old. We have only had it pumped out once. We have had to repair the aerator several times, but we still have the original aerator.
