A Hutch for my Mom
Here is a picture of the hutch i mentioned in a earlier post about a video cabinet i made for my mom. It took about 3 weeks to make, that is with what little bit of time i have after work in the evening. She really like its. Its made from birch and pine. Again i made all my own trim and raised panel doors. It was under 100.00 to build including hardware. No plans, i just winged it with the size she told me she wanted.

Re: A Hutch for my Mom
Larry, I envy both you and your mom. Her for having you and you for your craftsmanship. As our house will not be a totally finished turnkey deal, I will be trying to do some craftsman like "stuff" myself in the finish carpentry and built-ins. If I knew what you obviously know, I could throw away what I know about woodworking and be way ahead.

Pat,
Thanks for the big Pat on the back, but alot that goes into woodworking is haveing the right tools and playing with them to learn how to use them. Thank you for complimenting my work.

Re: A Hutch for my Mom
Larry, You may have heard the phrase, "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." That is sort of how I view furniture making and fine woodworking. How'd dey do dat? Magic!
I may never be a high priest of fine woodworking but aspire to be an advanced acolyte.

You can make a hutch? I've been looking for an older one so I can sand it down and make it look older. I love antiques but not the prices. I don't see any picture, did it get removed? I would love to know how to make one.
