We've had some problems with junebugs/grubs destroying grass at times, but this is the worst infestation I've ever seen! There's an area about 30'x50' underneath an outdoor light near the pond where they've about killed all the grass. Last week we applied Bayer Advance lawn treatment after we noticed the signs. A number of the dead bugs have been evident, but these pictures show huge numbers following a 3.5" rain last night.
I deleted the initial post, as the attachment didn't work and that was the only way I could figure out to correct it...
I have idea why, some kind of cycles I guess, but we'll go several years with few, if any, June bugs, then we'll have a big infestation. The same is true of crickets and it seems we have the infestation of the crickets more often than the June bugs.
