I wrote a post about something killed some of our chickens on Friday night.
What I would like to know is what would kill and leave some in the field and some half buried around the barn?
Coyote or wild dogs or what?

I would guess a domestic dog, not a wild one. Eating opportunities don't come along on a regular basis for wild dogs and I have a hard time picturing them leaving a meal strewn about and half buried by human habitat. Sounds more like something was "playing" with the chickens.
I think you are right.
Tonight there will be 4 of us out in the fields waiting.
Nothing has happened since Friday night. Our Llama is now
staying in the closed fenced in area instead of running in the fields. With the 4 of us tonight we should see something.
It was hard with just my DH since there is 30 acres.
Will let you know what we find.
Thanks,
Karen

Karen, I think Fred is right. Probably domestic dogs that pack up and do damage.
One thing you can do is get a camera that triggers off of a motion detector. If they are dogs and you recognize them then the owners are liable for any damage they do.
Not sure about other states but, in CA, your case gets much stronger if you put up a sign that says, essentially, "Dogs found worrying livestock may be shot". Check with your county.
Best of luck,
Mark
