    Do Coyotes share food?

Watched a pair of coyotes stalking a rabbit in my front yard today (yard is kinda lose as it is about 5 ac in prairie grass)

Look here if you wanna see. Daylight hours only.

Any way they spot rabbit and leisurely trot toward it ( as opposed to the dogs that take off at full speed) herd it for awhile stopping to stand on their haunches to look over the grass. One circles around and herds poor rabbit to the one sitting still which grabs said rabbit and begins to eat it. Other poor yote did not get a bite. So will the other yote get the next rabbit or is it just luck who eats and who goes hungry.

Not that there is not plenty of rabbits here to go around.

I always thought that canines ate in a heirarchy, the boss eats first till he is full, the 2nd boss eats till she is full, then down the line.

This is interesting if no sharing went on. They hunt as a team, the intent is survival, there must be an instinctive plan.

    Anybody?
